This week, with the June weather near perfect for bowls, has seen 30 players taking part in the day, playing 16 ends. 

The winning team this week was Chris Earl and Derrick Lindh with a score of 31+13. 

Runners-up this week were Peter Varcoe and Graham Attiwell with 29+9.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 07/05/2026

This week in cold and windy weather, only 14 players took part in the game, resulting in 2 pairs and a triple. 

The winning team this week went to the triple of Steve Carnellor, Steve Skeer and Mick Parish with 32+5. 

The other winning results were Dale Little and Jean Smith with 29+0, and Neil Whelan and Gary Davis with 28+3.

No runner-up prizes were awarded due to the low number of teams.

Please note that past bar voucher winners are asked to please return and use the vouchers so they can be handed out to the next winners.

Last week after the results were read out, the tournament called for a vote on reducing the time played in the winter months. It was decided that the 2-4-2 on Thursdays will be reduced to 16 ends, to be revisited when the warmer weather comes back.

This week in very cool weather, 24 players took part in the game.  Before going out onto the green, players were reminded of the Selector’s meeting to be held after the 2-4-2 game is completed.
The winning team this week went to Phil Keatley and Aaron Emonson  with a score of 31+4 winning on a count back and taking home first prize of $24.00. Runners-up went to Barry Smith and Iain Campbell also with a score of 31+4 and winning the $5.00 bar voucher.

Once the results were read out, President Aaron Emonson called all members together to elect the Selectors for next season’s Pennants teams, for Ladies Friday Pennants and Open Saturday Pennants.  The ladies elected were Joy Warren, Lurlene Reinders and Mary Campbell for Season 2026/27  and in the Open Pennants, there were 5 nominations with only 3 required with Kym Stewart, Steve Carnellor and Aaron Emonson elected for Season 2026/27

The Millicent Bowls Club once again held the weekly 2-4-2 game, starting at 1-00pm and playing 20 ends.  This week 28 players took part in the game but before going out to play Steve Skeer welcomed two bowlers from Hope Valley, John and Maggie Wright and one of our ex Night Bowlers, Brian McIntyre. He also reminded all players of the AGM to be held on Wednesday 22nd April starting at 4-30pm and the Presentation Day on Sunday 26th April with a BBQ being provided.
The winning team for this week with a score of 34+24 went to Faye Hill and Andre Reinders. Runners-up went to Scott Irvine and Eddie Hann 33+19.

This week 26 players took part in the Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2.  Before going out to play, Steve Skeer reminded players of the Flying Doctors fund raising bowls day to be held on Sunday 12th April.  Would all players please bring a plate of afternoon tea?
 The Men’s and Ladies’  Handicap Pairs to be played on Saturday the18th April with the Men’s flowing on to the 19th.  The Champion of Champion Fours to be played also on the 19that the Mount Gambier Club.

Coming first in the 2-4-2 game with a score of 32+15 were Peter Hyland and Philip Keatley.  Runners- up were Darryl Lowe and Steve Carnellor with a score of 31+2.  Other winning teams were, Tom Milne, John Buhlmann and Dale Little 32+1. This week, 24 players took part in the 2-4-2 game played over 20 ends.  First place went to Scott Irvine and Dale Little, winning on a count-back from Phil Keatley and Malcolm Wright with both teams winning 32 points and 13 shots up.

Before the players went out onto the greens, President Aaron wished Division 1 and 2 Pennant players travelling to Frances  all the best for the Lower South East Bowls  Association Grand Final.  Coming events for April are:  The Flying Doctors fund raising day on the 12th of April, Handicap Pairs on 18th April, Selectors’ Meeting on the 16th April and the AGM on the 22nd of April starting at 4-30pm after the 2-4-2 game.

This week 28 players took part in the 2-4-2 game in nice sunny weather. Before players went out to play, Steve Skeer, reminded all of Men’s Handicap Pairs to be played on the 18th of April and the Ladies on the 19th of April.  The Annual Flying Doctors’ Competition will be held  Sunday 22nd of March with names in no later than 12-30pm on the day of play. Players participating in this competition are asked to bring a plate of afternoon tea.

The winning team for this week went to the pair of John Silis and Iain Campbell with a very good score of 35+18 and taking home $28.00 each. Runners-up, with a score of 34+16 went to the team of Chris Earl and Andre Reinders winning the $5.00 bar voucher each.

This week the numbers were well down for the game, with only 22 players registered to play.  Before going out to play, Steve Skeer reminded players of the Flying Doctors’ Day arranged for Sunday the 22nd of March.  This day is open to Night Bowlers as well and all money raised goes straight to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, who do a marvellous job in our area. Participating players are asked to  please bring a plate of afternoon tea.
The winning team for today was Peter Scanlon and Terry Lonergan with a score of 34+25 and taking home $22.00 each.  Runners- up and winning the $5.00 bar voucher each were Robbie Chambers and Ian Ross with a score of 31+11.

This week 36 players took part in the 2-4-2 game played over 20 ends. Winners for the day with a score of 33+17 was the team of Chris Earl and Brian Goode taking home the $36.00 prize pool each, in second place also with 33 points but only 10 shots up and coming in runners-up was the team of Graham Attiwell and Frank Cooper.

This week 28 players took part in the 2-4-2 game.  Before going out to play Steve Skeer reminded players of the Veteran Singles for Men and Ladies to be played on Tuesday the 3rd of March commencing at 8.30 a.m. and asked all senior members to please take part in this tournament.
The winning team for this week was John Silas from the Beachport Club and Peter Varcoe with a score of 32+8 winning $28.00.  Second place went to the team of Derek Pietersma and Frank Cooper with a score of 32+6 and winning the $5.00 bar voucher each.

This week once again the weather was very kind to the players, with some wind but no rain. 22 players took part in the game and due to the number of players taking part, to give all players a game, two triples were required to play.  In this set up the lead and second players play 3 bowls and the skipper plays 2.
The team taking home $22.00 each went to a triple of Peter Bateman, Frank Cooper, and Peter Scanlon with a score of 33+16.  Runners-up went to Gary Davis and John Atkinson with a score of 31+6 and winning the$5.00 bar voucher each.

This week the Millicent Bowls Club has had a very busy time, with the Heb Henderson Memorial Men’s Fours, Mid-Week Pennants Wednesday, the 2-4-2 game on Thursday and Open Pennants on Saturday. Yes, it is all go for the Millicent Bowls Club.
This week 28 players registered for the 2-4-2 game in quite pleasant weather. The winning pair for this week was Scott Irvine and Kym Stewart with a score of 35+13 winning $28.00 each.  Runners-up for the game were Steve Skeer and John Atkinson with a score of 33+20 and winning the $5.00 bar voucher each.

This week, in much cooler conditions, 28 players registered to play bowls. The wind was quite strong across the green causing some problems with the bowls but players were able to adjust to the conditions.  Before going out to play Steve Skeer reminded players of the up and coming Handicap Singles for Ladies’on the 1st of February and the Men’s to be played on  the 8th of January.  The sheets are down for players to enter to take part in the games.
The winning team for today’s 2-4-2 was Greg DePamPhillis and Peter Hyland finishing with a very good score of 33+11shots up and taking home $28.00 each.  Runners-up, with a score of 31+10, were Ian Ross and Terry Lonergan, taking home the $5.00 bar voucher each.

The number of players taking part in the game this week was well down on previous weeks, perhaps due to other Carnivals in the Lower South East Bowls Association.  Only 16 players took part in the game.
Before going out to play, players were asked to try and find two more teams for the Herb Henderson Memorial Bowls Day, Monday 26th January.  Also the Ladies’ Handicap Singles to be played on the 1st of February and the Men’s Handicap Pairs on the 8th of February.  Would all players who are taking part in these games please put their names on the sheets available?
The winning team this week was Joy Warren and Brian Goode with a score of 35+18.  Runners- up, with a score of 32+11 was the team of John Drew and Eddie Hann.
