Open 2-4-2

This week, in rather poor weather conditions with wind and rain, 18 players took part in the game played over the normal 20 ends. Before going out to play, Kym Stewart, reminded players of Pennant practice on the 6th September to be played at the Mt. Gambier Bowls Club and the Scudds/Earl day on the 14th September to be played in Millicent against Mt Gambier RSL Club.

The winning team this week was one of the triples teams, Phil Keatley, Neil Whelan and Peter Varcoe with a score of 33+21 shots up, winning 13 of the 20 ends played and taking home $18.00 each. Runners-up for the day were  Rob Chambers and Peter Bateman, also winning 13 of the twenty ends with a score of 33+9 and winning the $5.00 bar vouchers each.

Other winning teams for the day were, Denis Clifford, Steve Skeer 32+15 and David Reichelt, Kym Stewart 30+10.

This week, 34 players take to the greens to play 20 ends of 2-4-2. Because of the number of players taking part in the game, two triples were required. If the triples are playing against a pair, the first 2 players in the triples team play 3 bowls each and the Skipper plays 2 bowls, giving a total of 8 bowls for each team. Before going out to play, players were asked to please consider taking part in the Mid-Week Pennants as there are still positions available for the club to be able to enter 2 teams.

This week the winning team went to one of the triples, Darryl Lowe, Joy Warren and John Madden, winning 15 of the 20 ends played, with a very good score of 35+9 and taking home $34.00 each.  Second place, with a score of 32+4 went to Faye Hill and Malcolm Wright, winning the $5.00 bar voucher each.

This week, 28 players registered to play in rather windy cool conditions.  The team winning the day, with a very good score of 34+15 was   Mick Parish and Neil Whelan taking home $28.00 each.  Runners-up with a score of 33+13 were Gary Wilson and John Madden.
Other winning teams were Mary Clifford, Malcolm Wright 33+4. Lurlene Reinders, Jim Campbell 31+9. Denis Clifford, Peter Dunnicliff 31+7. Deb Butler, Kym Stewart 31+3 and Graham Loveday, Derk Pietersma 30+3.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 7th August,2025

This week 22 players took part in the Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 in rather cool conditions.  Winning the raffle this week with first prize was Frank Cooper,  second prize Ella Pietersma  and  third prize went to President of our Club, Aaron Emonson.

The winning teams for the day saw the team of Andrew Reinders and Denis come in first with a very good score of score of 33+25.  Runners-up went to a triple of Orr Grosvenor, Mick Parish and Peter Scanlon with a score of 33+11.

Other winning teams were, Lurlene Reinders and Kym Stewart 32+4. Barry Smith, Peter Varcoe 31+3 and Graham Attiwill, Steve Skeer 29+3.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 31st July,2025

This week’s 2-4-2 saw 32 players take part in the game, played over 20 ends. Before going out to play, players were informed of the up- coming events.  The official Season Opening Day on the 31st August, starting at 11.00 am. Practice Match to be played in Mt. Gambier at the Mount Gambier Club, 6th September starting at 1.00 pm.  The  Scudds/Earl Shield Day 14th September, to be played in Millicent.  Players are requested to please wear their club uniforms.
